DREW SUPPA
is a Los Angeles-based Cinematographer and IATSE 600 Camera Operator focusing on both proficient technical ability and emotive imagery that moves a story forward.
His love of film began at an early age, having written his first feature-length screenplay at the age of 13 and shooting dozens of short films with his childhood friends from stop motion to live action. After getting in trouble for manufacturing his own squibs, he started focusing on other career paths within the industry.
Drew received formal instruction from the University of Central Florida’s limited-access Film BFA program where he focused in Cinematography.
An opportunity provided through family friends of Allen Daviau, ASC (E.T. The Extraterrestrial, Empire of the Sun) afforded Drew the opportunity to study the craft of lighting first-hand from one of the great cinematic masters, two-time Academy Award winner John Toll, ASC (Braveheart, Legends of the Fall).
His professional work has taken him to both inhabited and remote locations in over 30 countries and has been showcased internationally at the Festival de Cannes’ Court Meterage (2011) and multiple domestic film festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival’s “Project: Direct” (2009) and the Producer’s Guild of America’s “Make Your Mark” shorts competitions (2014) where they placed in the top ten in their respective categories.
